Back Pain From Back Strain

What should I do to relieve my back pain?

Yesterday I went to the beach and strained (I’m not sure if this is the right term) my back by bending backwards. Right now my lower back is hurting a lot and I can barely stand up straight. Any suggestions to help relieve the pain?

Take some tylenol to help with the pain. I would recommend just taking it easy for a day or two and consider seeing a chiropractor. Besides doing adjustments they will likely show you some back stretching exercises that can be easily done at home. I’ve had some lower back problems and daily stretching has helped immensely.

    Good luck!

I work at a pharmacy and I’ve heard the pharmacist say that Excedrin is really good.

Tylonol and hot tub. If that fails, chiropractic. Give it time before the latter, unless it’s extremely painful, then, get it checked out soon.

Try placing a heat pad on the painful areas.

Take two ibuprofen, and lie down on the floor with your feet on the sofa, knees bent at a 90 degree angle.

Placing a pillow or rolled up towel between the floor and the heating pad will help, too.

While standing, reach your hands around to your back, placing them about in the small of your back, one on a muscle on that side of your back. Press in and hold. Now relax, take a deep breath and exhale and don’t tense up your body. After 30 seconds, very slowly start to lean forward until you have bent over as far as you can. Release the pressure and let body rest here for one minute. If you still have trouble contact me.

I think you pulled morsels and may be having spasms.
I would suggest that you see your dr, asap to prevent any further damage and to find out exactly what damage you did do.
I am a nurse and my back is so bad I get trigger injections almost every month Heat-massage-and believe it or not–no resting it out I am on many muscle relaxers and inflame. and still pain. So I go to the pain clinic for injections but I hurt my back and just ignored it -kept on working-and finally I gave up.You make sure you have done no damage now-don’t be another me and of all should have known better-much better

Grab a hot pad and place it on the injured part of your back, do that along with taking some pain pills to dull the pain. Really however, the best remedy for a "strain" like that will just be time. Good luck, I really hope you start feeling better quick!
