Back Pain From Sports?

Question..What are some good ways to relieve back pain from sports?

Every once in a while I get sharp pain in my lower back. I’m guessing it’s from working out for long periods of time and over exerting myself. Any suggestions to relieve the pain or prevent it from coming back again?

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book if you suffer from any kind of chronic pain. Even if your doctor has pronounced judgement that he/she knows what’s causing things, try this book. As the author says, trigger point therapy should be the first course of treatment: it’s easy and cheap.

I get lower back pain from time to time too. I randomly feel a surge of pain when i’m laying down funny.

Stretch your back out and try not to stay in the position that you first experience pain in. Moving around may hurt, but not moving into another position may hurt even more.

You could be experiencing a muscle spasm. I would take some Advil to relieve the pain and rest the area a bit.

maybe it’s not even from exercising… maybe you just slouch too much.
