Backache Staying After Giving Birth?
How long does backache stay after giving birth?
My daughter was born six weeks ago and i still have an aching pain in my lower back, does this eventually go away or get better? what can i do to help it?
i had a completely natural labour so couldn’t be an epidural. Will also ask at my check up.

Well…. I still have a back pain and my sons 10 months old….. lol… but I think that’s caused not so much from being pregnant but from carrying him around all the time, bending over constantly, and spending hours sitting on our hard wood floors.
I think my backache caused by pregnancy began to subside around 2-3 months. Everyone is different though.
I found relief from taking warm baths and soaking and letting the muscles relax. Having my husband give me back rubs. I also fell in love with my heating pad. I have used the icy hot patches on occasion, they where all right, but preferred the heating pad. Also, pay close attention to your posture. It takes time for you vertebrates to realign after being pregnant, concentrating on your posture and trying to sit very upright helps this process. When bending, try to remember to use your knees opposed to bending over with your back (I have a hard time remembering to do this one.) Good luck…. give it time… and hang in there…. it will get better.
If it’s muscle pain, a massage will do wonders for you. If it’s a side effect of the epidural, I don’t know.
I dont know why you would have a continuous backache. I have had two children with epidurals and did not have backaches after birth. Maybe you have a pulled muscle or something. I would ask your Dr about it.
i had terrible back pain after having a Cesarean section its because you are using your back muscles on their own and not in conjunction with your stomach muscles if yours was a natural delivery 6 wks is a long time so see your doctor.
I had my daugher natural labor And I had no epidural..
But trying soaking In tub with hot water. and Trying heat pad on your back..The strain we go threw for labor we are use our back muscle to. If our labor 12 or 21 hours We lay up in hospital bed that many hours..all we do push and relax. Eventually It will get better..My back aches lasted 2 month after baby was born..You still could use ben gay on your back to.& heat pad..When you sit put two pillow behind your back..
