Best Way to Cure Back Pain Without Pain Medication

Question about lower back pain for over a year..

Have had lower back pain for over a year and taking medication for pain and spasms. Would prefer to cure myself with other methods, home remedies.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book if you suffer from any kind of chronic pain. Even if your doctor has pronounced judgement that he/she knows what’s causing things, try this book. As the author says, trigger point therapy should be the first course of treatment: it’s easy and cheap.

    Do a search on this site for back strengthening exercises. This will really improve your muscalature and give you more support down there.

    Try a specialist for your back.Until then dont move a muscle or try any more stretches.My mom had that problem once and the doctor said she tore a tissue in her back and the more you stretch or rub the area you make it worst.So go to a doctor immediately.

    I would suggest that you visit with a physiotherapist and/or a personal trainer. Ask them to assist you in strength training exercises for your core muscles. By strengthening up your core muscles you give your spine better support and that will alleviate a lot of back pain.

    You could go to a chiropractor and get him to pop your back. Then you can take hot baths for the pain. And if you have a Jacqui. You can sit in there. That will help your back all together. And also you could get a different bed and sleep in a different position. That will sometimes help with back pain.

    What kind of back pain? Do you have sciatica, buldging disk, sprain/strain? You can try "back exercises", but only if you have a condition that would not be "worsened" by doing so. If you type in "back exercises" for a web search you will find them. You can also use analgesic creams/ointments, and hot/cold treatments (alternating) for 20 minutes every two hours. If your condition is very bad you might have to stay on pain meds, consider surgery or try an NSAID such as Motrin, Tylenol or Aspirin (just be careful not to take too many since it will upset your stomach, should take with food). You should see your primary care MD for further suggestions and to be certain that you have a condition that can be treated with alternative methods.

    oo i know a good solution to this, it doesnt work on everyone but on a lot of people it does u can get this things its like popcorn in a bag and u microwave it-but it doesnt become popcorn the corn becomes heated and it soothes ur body it really works well on both my parents

    pls try using acv (apple cider vinegar)

    pain management are important to relieve pain.

    * try to avoid activities that can add up to the condition like lifting and carrying heavy objects
    * try to give overworked and stressed muscles a rest so that it can heal in time
    * try massage to relaxed tensioned muscles
    * try warm water therapy to reduce inflammation of strained muscles
    * try topical treatments for safe, effective and soothing relief from pain.
