My wife hurt her back in a car accident several years ago and she tried just about every non-surgical treatment around, including the ones you mentioned along with piriformis injections, sound therapy, and chiropractic adjustments.

They all offered some relief, although for her it was temporary. She was considering microdiscectomy when her chiropractor suggested spinal decompression.

There are several types of machines that are used for this type of therapy, my wife ended up using the DRX9000. It was expensive -- probably $4000 in total and she had to go through two rounds of 20+ sessions. However, after the 40 or so treatments her back was pretty much healed! We were REALLY happy!

The therapy has it's naysayers and I'm sure it doesn't work for everyone. A lot depends on the root cause of your particular back problem. However, I would definitely say it's something you should at least explore.

If it works for you then it's worth it not to have to go through back surgery.

how many sessions of acupuncture have you had, i have had all of that and now have injections, go to your gp and ask him/her to refer you to a orthopaedic clinic and see a back specialist. ive suffered for 5 years and still suffer even with treatment. I bet when you feel that your having a good day you do as much as you can Wrong only do light duties, maybe change of job, but for now see a specialist.
good luck,ps i go to a mr dyson at st albans

Hi. Have you tried going to a chiropractor? You need to find a good one though, so ask your friends for recommendations. Good luck and hope you feel better soon.

You have to build strong muscles on the back so the spinal cord can stand on..not on the nerves as it is very painful. So, exercise like..sitting on the back and lift the legs up..is the only safe exercise to build these muscles while you are having back pain. I couple of days you will be ok. Back pain is no longer a problem, as long as you build these muscles on it.
