How do you relieve lower back pain?

Question about relieving lower back pain..

I have been having extreme lower back pain lately.
I use a futon and a lower-back support chair.
I don’t have insurance, so a doctor or chiropracter is out of the question.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book if you suffer from any kind of chronic pain. Even if your doctor has pronounced judgement that he/she knows what’s causing things, try this book. As the author says, trigger point therapy should be the first course of treatment: it’s easy and cheap.

Get one of those exercise balls. They really help to stretch the back. I’ve been going to a chiropractor myself and he recommended me to do so.

I found out if I took some analgesics right before I hopped into the shower and then directed as ‘ hot as I could stand" water at the sore part of my back it helped to relieve the pain, try it.
