Lower Back Pain Both Sides
What would cause pain in your lower back on each side?
My 19 year old daugher has been having pain in her lower back on each side. More on the right than the left. I am thinking it might be the beginning of a kidney infection. She says it kind of hurts when she goes pee, does anyone know what this might be?

Kidney infections, stones, and traumatic bleeding of the kidney, hematoma, are frequently associated with low back pain. Diagnosis can involve urine analysis, soundwave tests, or radiological scanning of the abdomen. Sometimes, but not too frequently ovarian cysts, uterine fibroids, and endometriosis can cause low back pain. Precise diagnosis can require gynecologic examination and testing. To look at the whole picture one must even consider other less common causes and there are many causes of back pain. Pain in the low back can relate to the bony lumbar spine, discs between the vertebrae, ligaments around the spine and discs, spinal cord and nerves, muscles of the low back, internal organs of the pelvis and abdomen, and the skin covering the lumbar area. These may not be as common as other possibilities I’ve already mentioned but are still a possibility. Please see a doctor for proper evaluation.
