Lower Back Pain From Muscle Spasms
How can I relieve my lower back pain?
For the last two years I’ve been suffering from lower back pain with muscle spasms. I’ve gone to the doctors so many times and all they can do is give me muscle relaxers and after awhile of taking them they don’t work no more. I’ve done massages and exercises and the pain gets worse. I have no clue what to do any more. Can some one help, please?

if you already do regular exercises etc, have you ever been to a chiropractor? it may be worth it. Has your doctor had x-rays taken to check for arthritis?
Exercise to strengthen the supporting muscles of your spine. There are certain ones that will help. Meanwhile, get into bed every chance you have with several pillows under your knees to reduce the pull on your back.
excercise go to a chiropractor i had lots of horsebackriding accidents that cause lots of lower back pain. after visting with the chiropractor i began to feel a lot better and could ride again he will give you propert excercises to help your back get stronger
Get yourself a TENS machine. It sends electrical impulses to the nerves and stops the ‘pain’ message getting to the brain. I used one for my sciatica and it worked wonders where even a shot of morphine had failed to help!
I’m assuming these doctors are chiropractors. I would recommend OTC (Ben-Gay etc..)muscle rubs, or heating pads, Hot soaks. Also it’s suprising they didnot recommend a (10 unit) it will administer low dosages of electrical volts, and ice packs that are administered within prescribed time frames as to constrict the blood vessels to reduce pain. Also it is recommended that you administer the latter with the assistance from a professional because you can cause damage to the nerves if you don’t administer heat/cold within 20 minute intervals. 20 on, 20 off within a recommended time frame.
I agree completely with the others who recommend chiropractic. Ice is the best temporary pain reliever, but chiropractic treatments get to the core of the problem. Muscle relaxers mask the problem instead of curing it.
Despite the varied therapies to treat lower back pain (massage, manipulation, heat, ultrasound, acupuncture and medications), self management is widely accepted and can be more effective for long term management of your low back problems.
