Mattress Causing a Morning Backache

How does a mattress cause a backache in the morning?h4>

When I wake up I have an achey, sore (central to lower) back. After getting up, 10 minutes later my back is fine for the rest of the day. I assume it is from my mattress because I have slept elsewhere without problems.

What causes this? I do not feel uncomfortable when I sleep. Plus,I sleep on my left side mostly. I am getting a new mattress and box spring. I just hope it works.

An unsupportive mattress can definitely cause back pain.

I purchased one of those number bed mattresses. It works very well for me. Yours doesn’t have to be that type. Any mattress that conforms to your shape and at the same time offers firm support will probably be fine.

I put my mattress on the floor because I wasn’t getting enough support and plenty of back aches. The floor helped, a better bed helped lots more.

Alot of it has to do is with the mattress. If it is a cheap mattress you can usually feel the coil springs in the mattress. I used to sleep on a regular mattress too and I was getting back pains in the mornings. I switched to a water bed and that was the worsted thing for me too. As when I woked up in the morning I couldn’t even breathe hardly until I got up and started to walk around. Then I just went to Walmart and bought an air mattress and now I sleep peacefully and no back pain in the mornings no more.
