What causes pain from left side of chest to back side and up the neck?
Question about pain across chest to back..
I have been experiencing this pain all day yesterday. It goes from left side above the left breast to my left side of my back and up my neck. Does it have anything to do with my mitral valve problem?

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book if you suffer from any kind of chronic pain. Even if your doctor has pronounced judgement that he/she knows what’s causing things, try this book. As the author says, trigger point therapy should be the first course of treatment: it’s easy and cheap.

it might have soemthing to do with your mitral valve problem or could be musculoskeletal, have you done anything where you may have exerted certain chest or neck muscles lately anything repetative even. I would check with your doctor if you have a mitral valve problem.
Yes it does.
Have you talked to your doctor? I'm no physician, but WebMD would say this is serious and you should not wait to seek medical help. It could be a heart attack.
As I said, I'm not a doctor. I hesitate even to answer this question because I don't have much knowledge, but your situation is potentially urgent. Please don't wait.
It certainly sounds like a heart problem. If you have been feeling breathless over the past few weeks this could be due to the heart not pumping the blood fast enough around the body, the excess fluid could be building slowing in your lungs- dangerous. If the pain travels up to your jaw this is a classic symptom of a heart attack. Please get to your doctor immediately.
YES IT DOES! TAKE ONE ASPIRIN NOW AND GO TO THE HOSPITAL RIGHT AWAY!
