How soon into pregnancy do you get back pain?

As soon as you become pregnant your body starts changing, especially your hormone levels. Your increased hormones make your ligaments soft and stretchy, including the ligaments in your back. Unfortunately this also makes them painful.

The best you can do is be very careful about your posture and back mechanics. Avoid bending and lifting, and when you have to bend, bend at your hips and keep your back straight.

I have had it since the beginning of my 2nd trimester

You don’t get back pain before you even know you’re pregnant… back pain in pregnancy is caused by the uterus being extremely large and heavy and having the weight of another human being carried out in your front.

You don’t get that until you are well into the 2nd trimester at least.

It was my very first symptom. And no, you don’t JUST have it because ‘your uterus is very large…etc’. That is a common period symptom as well, at least for me it was. Whenever my uterus was/is contracting, I could feel the pain in my lower back. It seemed to come and go then with the first inital hormones setting in, and then let up until my 15th week, and now I hurt more than ever, as well as my hips. It’s all worth it.
