heat helps. i had one of those bags that are filled with lavendar and some other stuff, i dont know what, that you put in the microwave to heat up when i was still working and it was a life saver. i just heated it in the microwave, and put it between my back and my chair at my desk.

I would also like to know as I'm 29 wks along and my whole back hurts. From my ribs down to my lower back... I haven't tried anything, just that my husband rubs my back every night. But still doesn't help!!

There are massages for pregnant women and also chiropractic care. Both are wonderful rememdies. I would sleep on my left side with a pillow between my knees to level out the pressure upon my lower back. Bath's helped, if not only for the relaxation of it.

Herbal heat packs work wonders as a previous person said. Your husband could try using a massage stone that has been heated (but put oil on it). There's really nothing else you can do, just make sure he gives you a DEEP muscle massage. If he's just getting the surface, I'm not surprised that it isn't helping. I've spent a long time massaging my sister when she was pregnant and I learned quickly that you can't be gentle.
