Oh man I have had problems with mine, like a pinched nerve, for longer than 4 yrs now and never done anything about it…now that I am 7 1/2 months pregnant its worse than ever. But I have to continue to work (pay bills). I work in an office so around the slow times and mostly lunch time I stand at my desk and stretch. I will crack my back and massage the area also, I sit alot so I try to stand and walk around and reposition myself if it starts to hurt. Twisting my back to crack it helps alot, almost every time the pain stops for a while. Sleep with a cushion or pillow in between your legs also that helps align your bones so there isn’t a lot of pressure on the nerve. It will just hurt at home also so you might as well just stay at work. GL

Continue to work. Sciatica can be a lifetime affliction. You would end up unemployed if you took off everytime your sciatica started bothering you.

When comes to having this kind of pain it’s best to stay home from work and go see a doctor.

I know that my sciatica hurts also. Sometimes it flairs up, and I don’t even know what I did. But, the show must go on, unfortunately. Take an anti-inflammatory, and try not to aggravate it, depending on what your job is. maybe get a note from you doc to put you on light duty when it flairs up. And also, if it is that bad, maybe look into applying for FMLA. You won’t get paid, but it will save your job.

I have cronic Sciatica pain that began three years ago.i allready retired several years ago or i would be disabled because i take Moreapine twice a day along with some outher meds for the pain so i would’nt be able to work if i wanted to.
See have your Family Doctor refer you to a Nureo Surgen to try and get some help.
    Good Luck

understanding sciatica is the best way u can decide what u really want to do.
sciatic is a nerve which originates from the lumbar vertebrae and runs down your leg.
a pain in this nerve causes sciatica. this is because there might be some pressure applied by the adjacent organs on the course on the nerve.
this might be at the point of origin due to collapsed vertebrae due to age or injury or nerve stuck in the hip joint or any tumour putting pressure on the nerve.
the best way to treat is specific exercises use of counter irritant ointments massage and if unbearable tricyclic antidepressants are used.

    Depends on your job.
I suffer from sciatica every now and then, and usually I can feel an onset coming a few days in advance.
I usually will work through it now, but I know now to actually go to the doctor as soon as possible to get enough vicodin for the week.
