Oh yes!Got it at the moment & it’s hurting like hell.Had a Caudal Epidural 2 weeks ago which injects a steriod into the lower spinal area(was knocked out for this)so have been waiting for a miracle ever since, alas its not kicking in yet & pain is increasing again.Had managed to come off all the strong painkillers cause they really have bad side effects(Tramadol is MORPHINE based by the way)& block up your natural bodily functions(if you know what I mean).
Anti inflammatorys help to reduce the swelling caused by the slipped disc as long as your not asmatic(wrong spelling)they can make you wheezey though,so check first with doc/pharmacist.Diazepam works as a muscle relaxant, but make you very dopey!I was away with the fairys!
Try a Tens machine which gives pulses of tiny shocks to the affected nerves & certainly helps the pain(better than pills).
Alcohol will make any drugs less effective,so don’t try mixing both!
Have been looking at trying the Bowen Technique which sounds like a more comfortable therapy than Osteopathy, maybe you could look that up too?
Hope you find relief soon,it wears you down after a while, good luck.

I had cortisone shots in my spine to help with the sciatic pain. Now I just take Percocet for the pain my disc causes and am hoping it heals on it’s own.

Sciatica results from irritation or inflammation of the sciatic nerve, the only effective treatment is anti-inflammatory drugs.

I had back surgery a few mths ago and I had extruded disc material lying on the sciatica nerve. Which not only bk hurt but leg and buttocks as well. They went in and removed the extruded material lying on the nerve and drilled a hole in a few disc. It did help alot.. As I am bk to work. However Cold icepack is better than heat. I also take somas as a muscle relaxer at bedtime cause my hips hurt if I lay too long. Try the cold packs and if your doctor will give you somas or the generic brand is just as good. Tramadol never helped my pain like the other person said it did theirs. But who knows we are all different. I have also learned my limitations. Now thats a big one for me. I go to a nuerosurgeon not a orthopedic. Because nueros know more about the nerves.
Click HERE For Your FREE Download The medical community still hasn't standardized the term for this common spinal condition. So if you have been told you have a herniated disc, a slipped disc, a prolapsed disc, a bulging disc, a ruptured disc, or even degenerative disc disease, it's essentially the same thing. The terminology depends on who you are asking!
