Sciatica Nerve Causing Pain in Legs, Back and Tingling

How to eliminate pain?..

My sciatica nerve is causing pain in legs, back and tingling.

I have had this back pain and leg pain over many months. I was going through physical therapy and regular exercise. But the pain continue to bother me. Is there a better treatment other than regular exercise.

What was the course of your physical therapy? You should first know that practice variations among physical therapists is quite large. Yet, the most researched methods of treating sciatic type symptoms are mechanical diagnosis and therapy (http://www.mckenziemdt.org ) and manual therapies. If you have not been seen by a PT who is certified in one of these, I would highly recommend it. In fact, the MDT practictioner will focus on showing you how YOU can control or even eliminate your symptoms.

Not all people are responders to PT. Sometimes, other methods will help such as injections or chiro care…espeically when combined with PT.

Other considerations outside of surgery include intradiscal electrothermal heating and percutateous disc decompression…however, these all depend on the exact cause of your sciatica and are best discussed with a surgeon.

    Good luck

Depending upon where you live. Some larger cities have hospitals that have Pain Management Centers where this type of problem is addressed. You might check into this.

I get great relief from the chiropractor, but I realize that all chiropractors are not created equal – there’s bad ones out there, and lots of people have had bad experiences with them. Specifically with sciatica I have had really good luck.

There’s also Dr. Sarno’s book which you can get used off of Amazon for about $1. "Healing Back Pain" – you might find that interesting. It’s helped a lot of people – but it is everything that you won’t expect in a book.

But in any case you can’t let this go on for months! It’s your whole life going down the toilet – get rid of that pain!

You never will eliminate it,, the best you can hope for is to control it.

And be careful about the chiropractors!! They may be good for some things but I’m not too sure on nerves. I’m disabled partly due to a chiropractors ‘adjustments’ Have a real doctor refer you to one if he thinks it will help

CHIROPRACTOR, CHIROPRACTOR, CHIROPRACTOR. I treated 14 years from disabling injury doctors told me I would not recover from. They had me so doped up I was literally falling into the walls. Even the chiro didn’t think he could help me. Now I am off all prescription meds and have NO Sciatic pain. If I do too much activity beyond my capacity and trigger sciatic, chiro puts spine back in position, off nerves, pain is gone within the hour. May take some time, because nerves are swollen after being pinched.
But this saved my life. Chronic pain will depress you and make you crazy. Chiro for healing. Other did nothing much.
