Sciatica Problem Stopping Golf Swing

How do you get over sciatica back problem?

I’ve been playing golf for 32 years…since I was 7. I have had a back problem that started during the winter. I’ve been in pain with my right leg every day since and often can’t make a full golf swing because of that. I saw a chiropractor 4 times, but no luck. This wasn’t caused by an accident or stress on the back. I was just getting ready to go to sleep one night and felt a little pain in my right leg…every day since and quite a bit of pain often when standing up.

This can get serious if you don’t get it treated. I slipped a disc in my back without injuring it too. DO NOT go back to a chiropractor until you are seen by your primary care doctor and have an MRI done.
Good chiropractors shouldn’t even touch you with this type of pain without seeing an MRI – they make one wrong move and you could be in pain the rest of your life. That’s not to say you should never see one – just be very careful since this is likely a problem in your spine.
Sciatica occurs due to pressure on the spinal cord – you might have a bulging disc. Go see your doctor. He or she may refer you to a neurosurgeon or other specialist and will almost certainly order an MRI. Physical therapy is another big help. Therapists are better at dealing with these things than chiropractors for the most part.

as you know, it heals itself. take asprin and put you feet up everytime you can. it comes with injuries in life and you need rest. let it heal and don’t injure it again. i have it. better to suffer tjhrough it.

See a chiropractor, he will do some x-rays and if he can’t see the problem he may order an MRI. Don’t take chances with your back, it could be the first sign of something serious. A good chiropractor can be your backs best friends. I know this from personal experience and the chiropractor I go to has been a God sent to me. When your body is in pain it is telling you something is wrong, listen to it and don’t just expect it to go away.

HI Jim : I have the same problem , the only I get relief is going to a Sports Chiropractic Clinic when it really acts up. Heat treatment and the roller that goes up and down your back seems to help plus electrolysis’s. I use ice packs and Ibuprofen to releive the pain. Do a lot of streching execrises before your game . I was bending over to tie my shoes when mine happened. I hope you have no disk problems. Good Luck.

Have you done any research on the new back treatments.

I read they have laser surgery for back problems now that element all the cutting and invasive tools.

I had problems with sciatica myself and I did try seeing a chiropractor. He wasn’t able to help me. However, he did give me some exercises to do, and they made a world of difference.

If you check WebMd, they can give you pictures of some good exercises to do – and I think they’re the same ones the doctor gave me.
