This can get serious if you don't get it treated. I slipped a disc in my back without injuring it too. DO NOT go back to a chiropractor until you are seen by your primary care doctor and have an MRI done.
Good chiropractors shouldn't even touch you with this type of pain without seeing an MRI - they make one wrong move and you could be in pain the rest of your life. That's not to say you should never see one - just be very careful since this is likely a problem in your spine.
Sciatica occurs due to pressure on the spinal cord - you might have a bulging disc. Go see your doctor. He or she may refer you to a neurosurgeon or other specialist and will almost certainly order an MRI. Physical therapy is another big help. Therapists are better at dealing with these things than chiropractors for the most part.

See a chiropractor, he will do some x-rays and if he can't see the problem he may order an MRI. Don't take chances with your back, it could be the first sign of something serious. A good chiropractor can be your backs best friends. I know this from personal experience and the chiropractor I go to has been a God sent to me. When your body is in pain it is telling you something is wrong, listen to it and don't just expect it to go away.

HI Jim : I have the same problem , the only I get relief is going to a Sports Chiropractic Clinic when it really acts up. Heat treatment and the roller that goes up and down your back seems to help plus electrolysis's. I use ice packs and Ibuprofen to releive the pain. Do a lot of streching execrises before your game . I was bending over to tie my shoes when mine happened. I hope you have no disk problems. Good Luck.
