ok. so you do know that by laying on your side they mean just dont lay COMPLETLEY on your back right? , i just got out of the hospital and while there they said that you can put a pillow under either of your sides and thats considered laying on your side. its a hell of alot more comfortable. and sleep with a pillow between your legs to where it supports your ENTIRE leg or it can cause hip pain and back pain. and yes. you can do these things called cat/cows, or also known as a pelvic rock. get down on your hands and knees like a cat and isolate your lower back area and lift (think cat arching its back. almost like a yoga pose) but you only want to isolate your lower back and lift up. this can also help with the peeing :) you can also do these against the wall. just stand directly up against the wall. put your hands on the crook of your back. and press in until your hands touch the wall. also do squats. and when you sit dont sit criss cross apple sauce. sit with just your ankles crossed and sit with a pillow under your butt... i have a few more things you can try so you can email me for info :)

Try laying on whichever side is most comfortable for you, and place a large pillow up under your back, and another in between your knees.

This will help to shift your weight, as well as align your spine to a more natural position.

This may sound silly but I always got on all fours....or I would bend over the arms of our couch and just rest. This took pressure off of my back. Also, try sitting in a reclined position by propping yourself up with pillows or just plain sitting in a recliner.
