What helped sciatica during pregnancy?

Anyone suffering or who suffered from sciatica during pregnancy? What helped you?

Mine started a week ago, and some days it’s excruciating! Any good tips on easing the pain? And when did it finally end for you? (So far a heating pad and making sure I get up and walk around frequently is helping a little).

I suffered it for two weeks. I got a tummy lifter thingy to wear. It lifted the baby a bit. Then I also prayed to God to ask my son to move a little bit. I think the praying worked it out. The tummy lifter thingy just helped a bit.

    Good luck!!!!! Valentine baby :)

heat, switching positions and sleeping with a pillow between my knees. That was the biggie. Nothing gets rid of it completely, but it helped, also make sure you have good shoes on. You can try a chiropractor and massage as well. He was a miracle worker on me for my second pregnancy.

Hi, i had that pain in the tailbone.. Well nothing really helped me, except for yes walking, but some times it even hurt then. I sit all day at work, so I had to change my position every few mins. Also it went away I think in the last few wks of preggos (maybe because I was at home and laying down more than sitting).Good luck! Also I heard that when you have that pain, baby is pretty low which is actually really good, meaning that you’ll have an easy labor. My labor was pretty easy.

The yoga ball helps me. The pain is so awful, it went away for awhile then it just came back the other day. The shower helps a lot too.

Congrats, hopefully we’ll have our sweetheart babies on that day.

    One word: Chiropractor!
Mine helped me a ton when I was pregnant with both of my kids, I had the exact same problem as you, and adjustments did wonders for me, along with the heating pad and massages. Good luck!

i’m due in Feb. also. I’ve had sciatica since about 25 weeks. Sitting on a yoga ball helps me. warm baths. heating pads, back rubs. It hurts to walk sometimes. its awful. i cant wait for Feb to be here.

Try an ice pack. You can also alternate between ice packs & heat. always start and end with ice for best results.

For me it didn’t end until I had the baby and it was off of that nerve. A nice hot bath helped and a heating pad helped. Just relax as much as possible and also my husband surprised me with a prenatal massage and that really helped too. They put some hot rocks on my back and it felt amazing!!
