I've found that feet, back, hips... they are all connected. I finally got rid of my old awful mattress and bought a Sleep Number, and couldn't be happier. Best nights of sleep ever. Also, I had that same pain you are describing - lower back, to the right. I did a bunch of research and it sounded like it was a problem with the sacrum... yoga really helped as well! Had surgery five years ago. We bought a sleep number bed last year and that is the best investment we have ever made. When my back is bad, I adjust it to comfort. When I had a problem with my back a couple of months ago, the only place I could find any comfort was my sleep number bed. I would recommend it to anyone with back problems. Both before and after the surgery I felt like the bed was critical in careing for my back and recovering from surgery. While a this bed can greatly improve your rest and back pain, it can not cure all ill's, particualarly structural issues like I had. The key in my opinon is the adjustable air chambers. At times I was best served by a firm setting others a softer setting was more effective, the main point is with the Select Comfort you have the ability to adjust the setting as you NEED, something that is not offered in my other beds. I would highly recommend the bed, best purchase I have made. I have been sleeping on a Select Comfort bed for several years.
