What is the best type of mattress to buy for back ache sufferers?

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book if you suffer from any kind of chronic pain. Even if your doctor has pronounced judgement that he/she knows what’s causing things, try this book. As the author says, trigger point therapy should be the first course of treatment: it’s easy and cheap.

    theyre a little pricey but if you ask for the display they knock a couple hundred off the price

    i sleep like a baby, because the mattress adjusts to me anyway i sleep! i literally feel like im sleeping on a cloud!

    Sealy posterpedic probably the best and if you have the extra money they have controls to suit your sleeping style. A firm mattress would probably do best, I know it helps me alot.

    never buy a soft bed which smoothly comfortably sags, buy hard comfortable smooth not sagging fibroflex beds. that only will suit

    Contour Living is pretty cool. Also, for long term a mattress or pillow might help but inversion therapy will work better for spinal alignment. Inversion therapy uses the effects of gravity to weight down your spine and stretch it out. As this happens your spine is allowed to decompress and as that happens it relieves the pinched nerves in your spine. Inversion therapy causes your muscles of your core (the hips, thighs, buttocks, back muscles and most importantly the stomach muscles) to stretch out. As they stretch the knots and spasms leave and when these muscles are all relaxed they loosen their grip on your lower back muscles, your spine and most importantly your pelvis, allowing them to go back into natural alignment. As they align this will cause your sciatica to vanish. It’s like if your car is out of alignment it pulls to one side and screws up the tires, it’s the same with your back. Inversion therapy will help align your spine consistently and the mattress and pillow while you’re laying on your back. Hope this helps.
