Neck, shoulder and back pain is usually a chronic condition, meaning everything you've been doing up to now, improperly, has now caught up to you. As a cleaner you need to learn and use proper lifting technique (bend your knees, straighten your back when lifting), proper positioning when cleaning, etc. While sleeping you need a comfortable mattress/pillow to keep your spine aligned. In life you need to correct your posture and exercise. You might have weak abdominal muscles and hamstrings (this is more for low back). See your doctor and ask for a physical/occupational therapy referral.

First of all RELAX !!! Do not let the stress of life follow you to bed. Leave work at work and home at home. Perhaps a Chiropratic adjustment is in order. Take a sleep aid for a couple of nights to force yourself to sleep hard. This will usually make you feel a lot better. If its stress, you need to speak with a counselor to deal with the issues at hand.

I had the same problem - it is almost certainly posture related. Try to be more posture aware and when at work, take a few moments every half hour to stretch and relax any tight muscles.

I had this for weeks and it turned out to be my pillow. Spent loads of money on expensive ones and found comfort in a cheapy one with a firmish core. May be worth a try?
